Personal Information Protection Policy
At NU Media Edge Inc., we are dedicated to providing exceptional marketing services to our clients. In delivering these services, it is sometimes necessary to collect, use, and disclose personal information about our users. Protecting their privacy is one of our top priorities.
We will inform our clients of the reasons for collecting, using, and disclosing their personal information, obtain their consent where required, and handle this information in a way that aligns with reasonable expectations.
This Personal Information Protection Policy is in compliance with PIPA (Personal Information Protection Act) and outlines the principles and practices we follow to safeguard personal information. Our privacy commitment includes ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of the personal information we collect and providing access to, and the ability to correct, personal information upon request.
Definitions

Personal Information – Information about an identifiable individual. This does not include contact information as described below.

Contact Information – Information that enables an individual to be contacted at their place of business, including name, title, business phone number, business address, business email, and business fax. Contact information is not covered by this policy or PIPA.

Privacy Officer – The individual designated as responsible for ensuring that NU Media Edge Inc. complies with this policy and PIPA.
Policy #1: Collecting Personal Information
1.1 Unless the purpose for collecting personal information is obvious and the client voluntarily provides it, we will communicate the purpose of collection either verbally or in writing at or before the time of collection.
1.2 We will only collect client information necessary to fulfill the following purposes:

To ensure a high standard of service;

To meet regulatory requirements;

To contact the client upon their request.
Policy #2: Consent
2.1 We will obtain client consent to collect, use, or disclose personal information unless we are authorized by law to do so without consent.
2.2 Consent may be implied where the purpose for collecting, using, or disclosing personal information is considered obvious, and the client voluntarily provides that information for the identified purpose.
2.3 Consent can also be implied if the client is notified and provided a reasonable opportunity to opt out of having their personal information used for purposes like marketing or product updates, and they choose not to opt out.
2.4 Clients can withhold or withdraw their consent to certain uses of personal information. However, withholding or withdrawing consent may restrict our ability to provide specific services or products.
Policy #3: Using and Disclosing Personal Information
3.1 We will only use or disclose personal information to fulfill the purposes identified at the time of collection or for purposes reasonably related to those identified purposes, such as:

To contact clients about products or services that may interest them.
3.2 We will not use or disclose personal information for any additional purpose unless we obtain consent.
3.3 We do not sell, share, or disclose personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Policy #4: Retaining Personal Information
4.1 If we use personal information to make a decision affecting the client, we will retain that information for at least one year to allow for any access requests.
4.2 Subject to policy 4.1, we will retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to meet legal requirements.
Policy #5: Ensuring Accuracy of Personal Information
5.1 We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that personal information is accurate and complete, especially where it is used to make decisions or disclosed to other organizations.
5.2 Clients may request correction of their personal information to ensure its accuracy. Requests must be made in writing, detailing the necessary corrections.
Policy #6: Securing Personal Information
6.1 We are committed to securing personal information to protect it from unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, or disposal.
6.2 Security measures include:

Secure data transmission;

Encryption of stored data.
6.3 We will use secure methods for destroying personal information, such as shredding printed documents or securely erasing digital data.
6.4 We will review and update our security measures as technology changes to ensure continued protection.
Policy #7: Providing Access to Personal Information
7.1 Clients have the right to access their personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
7.2 Requests for access must be made in writing and provide sufficient detail to identify the information being sought.
7.3 Upon request, we will inform clients how their personal information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed if applicable.
7.4 We will provide the requested information within 30 business days or give written notice of an extension if more time is required.
7.5 A minimal fee may apply for providing access to personal information. If so, we will inform the client of the cost and await their direction.
7.6 If a request is denied in part or full, we will provide written reasons for the refusal and outline the recourse available.
